DAY 1 (D) NARACOORTE TO PERTH: Monday 12 October 2026
Welcome to our sensational 2026 Perth and the South West WA Tour. This morning our local coach will transfer us to Adelaide Airport to connect with our non-stop flight across the Continent to Perth! Virgin Flight VA717 departs Adelaide at 1315 and arrives at 1420. We are met on arrival by our local touring coach and our driver/guide will help us explore Perth – a city with wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and an easy-going character. We will be introduced to the unusual combination of skyscrapers and colonial architecture within the city, among them, Parliament House, St Mary’s Cathedral and Government House. Following a brief sightseeing tour we visit the imposing Bell Tower. Filled with incredible history and boasting a unique and distinctive design, it has become an icon for Perth. The historic ring of bells was given to the people of Western Australia as part of the national Bicentennial celebration. Among them are the twelve bells of St Martin in the Fields. We then check into our centrally based Perth accommodation – the beautiful Duxton Hotel. Tonight, we will enjoy a Welcome Dinner in our hotel. (Meal inclusions: Welcome Dinner)
DAY 2 (BD) FREMANTLE: Tuesday 13 October 2026
This morning we are off to the historic port of Fremantle. This town is full of well-preserved heritage including the convict built colonial era buildings, the old jetty and the prison. We visit the Western Australian Maritime Museum which is perched on the shoreline of the Indian Ocean. The museum is symbolic of Fremantle’s past, present and future as a coastal city and port. It houses several unique galleries that explore WA’s relationship with the sea. From leisure boats and handcrafted sailing boats to commercial pearl luggers, the museum inspires visitors to discover WA’s affinity with the ocean. After some free time to purchase lunch (own expense) we transfer to Old Fremantle Prison for a “Behind Bars” tour giving a true insight into life as a prisoner. Then, to complete a fascinating day we join Captain Cook Cruises for an upstream cruise back to Perth with close up views of the picturesque waterfront suburbs and the Perth skyline. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast & dinner in the hotel)
DAY 3 (BD) PERTH CITY & BEACHES: Wednesday 14 October 2026
First up this morning is a visit to the Perth Mint. Originally opened in 1899 as a branch of the Royal Mint in London, today it only produces collector’s coins and other “one off” things like the 2000 Olympic Medals. The building was constructed with limestone from Cottesloe Beach and features the original Melt House where gold was melted and made into coins. A gold pour will be conducted for us in the same way it was when the building was first constructed. We then head out to explore the famous beach suburbs of Cottesloe and Scarborough with some free time for lunch (own cost) before returning to the hotel and a free afternoon. (Meal Inclusions: Breakfast & dinner in the hotel)
DAY 4 (BLD) MARGARET RIVER: Thursday 15 October 2026
We are heading south today. Our coastal route takes us through to Busselton. The Busselton Jetty is an iconic local attraction. At approximately 2 kilometres long, it is one of the longest in the world! Lunch is in the foreshore restaurant before commencing our Busselton Jetty Experience. The Jetty Train takes us out to the Underwater Observatory for a viewing of the aquatic wonders beneath the jetty. We will have some time to browse through the souvenir shop after our train returns. Nearby is Margaret River known for its world class wine, abundance of local produce and unspoilt coastline. This afternoon we call into Vasse Virgin, a natural soap factory. Here we’ll witness the soap makers at work as they hand blend a variety of luxurious natural body products using the finest extra virgin olive oil. Feel the difference in products at the various testing stations, especially for those who have allergies or sensitive skin. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast & dinner in the hotel/Light lunch in Busselton)
DAY 5 (BLD) MAMMOTH CAVE & CAPE LEEUWIN: Friday 16 October 2026
The Margaret River area is a rich dairy cattle and timber region, with a reputation for fine wines and surfing. This morning we drive south along the scenic Caves Road which will take us past the actual Margaret River mouth to Mammoth Cave. The Mammoth Cave was first recorded in 1850, later explored in 1895 and opened in 1904. We have arranged a guided tour. Just up the road is the Cave Works Interpretive Centre – an eco-complex designed to describe the region’s fascinating limestone caves. From here we continue to Cape Leeuwin, named after the Dutch ship Leeuwin which passed this point in 1622. This is the “land’s end” of the South West and the junction of the Indian and Southern Oceans. We have arranged a light lunch here (if anyone would like to visit the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, it will be at own expense, but we have time for the climb!) before heading north along the Bussell Highway back to Margaret River. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast & Dinner in the motel/Light lunch)
DAY 6 (BL) WINERY LUNCH IN MARGARET RIVER: Saturday 17 October 2026
After a free morning we are off for lunch! Sit back and relax as we enjoy a long lunch amongst the rolling hills, natural bushland and manicured gardens of Aravina Estate. This is sure to be a beautiful day as we taste Margaret Rivers finest local ingredients. Wander the gallery and marvel at the classic car collection while here too. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast in the motel/Winery lunch)
DAY 7 (BLD) MARGARET RIVER TO PERTH: Sunday 18 October 2026
We farewell our hosts before a stop at the Margaret River Chocolate Company and the chance to taste their mouth watering, handmade chocolates. The Dolphin Discovery Centre contains a vast exhibition about dolphins and marine environment, with aquariums and loads of Interactive activities. From here we return to Perth with some free time this afternoon to prepare for our departure tomorrow. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner at the Duxton. (Meal inclusions: Breakfast in the hotel/Light lunch/Farewell dinner)
